The rolling wooded hills that surround Hallefried are a pretty setting for the final Grand Slam of the Quidditch pro tour. Founded as the fifth Grand Slam (only Hamburg is younger) it has a long and rich tradition going back to the mid-1500s, and even earlier as a local tournament for teams from Halle, Naumberg and Leipzig.

The dark woods around lend it an air of isolation, although the city of Halle is not that far away. For this reason it has a reputation as being the most relaxed of the Grand Slams, where the players can escape the usual hustle and bustle of the tour. Visitors are encouraged to be quiet during play, and the wizarding press are provided separate lodges well away from the player areas. The players often express appreciation of these rules, as well as the chance to escape hotel life and stay in the wooden lodges.
